Allow me to tell you more about myself (for those who don’t know me. Haha!). I’m Jennifer, and I’m married to my absolute best friend ever. I have two sweet kiddos, my 5-year-old daughter, and my 1-year-old son who are literally the most exhausting and amazing little people ever. I’m a working-mommy turned stay-at-home-mommy. I absolutely love spending time with my family. I do photography. I love being involved in my church. And guess what – I used to be 336 pounds.
Lets face it, we all wish we could workout on a very regular basis, but LIFE happens or we get in our own way. I am a wife, a mother of two and I own my own handmade jewelry business out of our home. I am pulled in so many directions, not just in the mommy department or in the business, but as a wife and individual as well. Am I alone in this? It can be so frustrating, I know, so I’ve come up with some tips to help. I truly believe that when you put in a little effort to creating a routine, over time, it will become a habit. A very beneficial habit: making the time to workout.

If you’re a busy momma like me, balancing daily household chores, running errands and working is hard enough as it is. Now throw in trying to plan a well balanced meal for children who are so picky! As much as I am reluctant to admit, I’m often finding myself ordering chicken nugget meals at the closest fast food restaurant on my way home from grocery shopping.
Feeling guilty that they weren’t eating enough greens, I was desperate! Big emphasis on the was part of that statement until I found these amazingly delicious, yet veggie packed on-the-go snacks great for everyone in my family. They are Garden Lites muffins. My favorite flavor they offer is the Blueberry Oat muffins and my husband and kids absolutely LOVE the Chocolate muffins. Of course, how could they not, when warmed up, the chocolate morsels are just so scrumptious. Think lava cake for only 120 calories!
Weight, alright, health in general, can be a hard subject for ladies. If you are anything like me, you think about food and gain weight while your husband can work out for a week and lose 10 pounds. So not fair! I live an extremely active live and work out at least 5 times a week. I feel so much better mentally and physically when I can take that time out of my day to work out or go for a long walk (chat time with my husband or friend). But I can’t seem to loose that extra fluff.
My husband was told about this “10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse” by J.J. Smith that he wanted to give a try so I told him that I would join him for moral support because let’s face it, I was sure that it would not do anything for me so I could at least join along to make it easier for him. So here we go. He ordered the book from Amazon and we went to the grocery store to gather the ingredients. I am
not going to lie, I was pretty “hangry” by day 2 because we were still cooking meals for our kids and the smell of their food was way more enticing than the look of my green smoothie, which by the way were all delicious. You can't go wrong with ingredients like mango, spinach and flax seed!
I weighed myself on day 3 and saw that I had lost 2 pounds. Surely the scale was wrong. This was really working, for me?!?! We made it all the way to day 10! I lost 7 pounds and my husband lost 13 pounds. I was sure this would not happen to me, results like this come from some weight loss show or something. The best part is I feel so much better and have more energy.
I believe that we need to have a healthy mind, body, and soul. This cleanse has inspired us to shift our thinking and the way we cook for our family. I am still going strong and having a green smoothie for breakfast and lunch with a healthy dinner. If you're ready to give the cleanse a try, visit the link below:
Have you ever heard the saying, it’s 80% eating and 20% exercise? I’ve yet to discover if that saying is actually true, but I have definitely learned that what we put into our bodies is vital and greatly influences our overall weight and health. As a part of this super long weight loss journey of mine, I’ve definitely developed a mindfulness about what I eat.
A lot of times we start out with loads of willpower, and we decide that we’re determined to do whatever it takes to “eat healthy” but in reality, we are so confused about how to actually eat healthy that we end up giving up. Or, we do what we think is “eating healthy” only to see no results, and then we give up.
While I lost my first one hundred pounds by doing Weight Watchers, I’ve done a LOT of different things along the way. Super restricted eating, no carbs, protein shakes, you name it.
Recently I have found a plan that I absolutely love. The best part is that it is a long-term approach to eating, rather than a quick fix. I just can't do quick fixes anymore.
I’ve come to the conclusion that there is no final destination.
Yeah, that stinks doesn’t it?! We’d rather just do it, check it off the list, and throw the list further into the wind than the eye can possibly see. And just.. be done! Never having to think about this nagging topic again.
