A month ago, I was shopping at Whole Foods with the kids and Zoe, my 13 year old daughter said, "Hey, mom look at this water, it's the new trend!"
First of all, I want to point out that being a mom of 5 kids, comes with all the "benefits" of being enlightened with every single new trend on the planet. So, with that being said, I went ahead and put on my "OMG-I'm-So-Excited-About-Another-Trend-That-I-Have-To-Pay-For" face and joined her in the specialty water section of Whole Foods.
She handed me the water, but to my surprise I was really allured to the fact that it was a box of water and it was literally called Boxed Water! It was cleverly cute. Being a graphic designer and my company specializing in marketing and branding, I immediately fell in love with the product because I recognized the marketing approach that they achieved.
We ended up buying a couple boxes and while we drove home, we had taste it of course! It was instant fireworks in my mouth! It was the purest water I had ever tasted and after rounding up 5 kids to go to the grocery store, it was so refreshing.
After we got home, I Googled Boxed Water to learn more because I was so intrigued. I found out that they have such a beautiful mission called ReTree with a goal of planting 1 million trees by 2020. For every picture posted on social media captioned with #ReTree, they will plant 2 trees because of your post and they are just about half way to their goal. I also found out they have a nursery of trees that they specifically grow to manufacture the cartons of water so they can remain focused on their 2020 goal. That goal will make a huge difference with reducing the pollution that plastic bottles have accrued over the years and help save our wildlife.
After learning about what an wonderful company Boxed Water was, I thought back to what Zoe said about it being a new trend. It was a pleasure jumping onboard to this new trend that I hope continues on for a long, long time. Through the pictures we've posted to date, the McNair family has contributed over 20 trees to be planted, and that makes our family's heart so happy. Thank you Boxed Water for all that you do for our environment!
