You are definitely not what you wear but let’s be honest, clothing often has the magic ability of pushing your mood in the right or wrong direction.
I know when I’m not confident in what I’ve climbed into on a certain day, it shows… Good or bad, that’s simply the truth.
But I’ve found a new way to wear my heart on my sleeve in graphic tees.
These shirts, clad in catchy sayings and designs, are nothing new. I can remember pining for the latest Limited Too designs that promoted girl power in the form of a tiny cartoon kicking a soccer ball. My best friend and I had matching Old Navy dog tees in middle School. I have a lot of good graphic tee memories. Which is why I won’t let the fad go… I’ve just updated it a little bit.
Motivating myself to get to the gym has always taken an act of God. I really don’t like working out. But alas, I need to… And guess what has helped with that? I know it sounds crazy, but a graphic tee that reads “killin it.” When I put on that 12 dollar Target find, I think to myself, “self, you’re going to kill it today.” I’ve picked up a few others at tar-jay that somehow are total mood changers.
I don’t really like spending a lot on clothing I’m not going to wear to work, so my weekend casual style is often lacking… But once again, graphic tees to the rescue. It’s the perfect answer to lazy Saturday lunch. Oliver & Otis out of Texas is one of my favorite graphic tee lines. Their designs are clever and cute. Check them out and remember while your clothes don’t define you, a fierce t-shirt can often make for the start of a fierce day.
